Network

Network

The Library joined the SLSP library network which includes 490 Swiss libraries. You can collect and return resources from each of these libraries at your library.

In order to borrow documentary resources or other media, you need to be registered in the SLSP network. Please go to the Loan Activities page to learn more.

What happens with my data?

On registration, SLSP imports your personal data (names, addresses, telephone numbers, see General Privacy Statement SLSP) from your Switch edu-ID account into the new Swisscovery research portal. Your consent to your data being passed on to SLSP is obtained during the registration process.

You can change your personal data at any time in your Switch edu-ID account or institution/university. The changes are automatically transmitted to Swisscovery. Library-specific data such as borrowed media, orders and fees are recorded directly in Swisscovery.

You can delete your user account at any time, provided that there are no open transactions (borrowed media or fees). To do this, delete your Switch edu-ID account or contact SLSP via swisscovery@slsp.ch.

Transaction data is regularly anonymised and accounts in Swisscovery are erased after 10 years of inactivity.

For more information on the privacy policy and data protection refer to the SLSP website.

Swisscovery Courier Service

As a Graduate Institute Library member, you have access to the collections of the libraries in the SLSP network through Swisscovery Courier.

Documentary resources located in a Geneva library (UNIGE + City of Geneva) cannot be borrowed via the Swisscovery Courier service. Users must go to the library holding the documentary resource to borrow it directly.

For more information, see Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery.

Library Use Regulations

Library use regulations have been approved by the Geneva Graduate Institute authorities thereby giving all Library users the opportunity to make full use of Library resources. Ignoring regulations may inconvenience other users and entail fines or other penalties, so please take the trouble to read them.

Here are a few principles to remember:

  • The need for quiet should be respected.
  • Phones must be set on silent mode.
  • Group study or silent areas should be used appropriately
  • Litter should be disposed of by using the recycling bins.
  • No food is allowed in the reading room. Drinks in bottles and closed cups are accepted
