The IFRC Archives contains records created or received by the Secretariat of the IFRC from 1919.
The catalogue is divided into three sections:
Access policy: Minutes and reports of the General Assembly and of the Governing Board are made public after 20 years. Unrestricted files of the Secretariat can be consulted after a period of 30 years.
Consultation: only by appointment (Register form,. Contact and detailed information).
The catalogue is divided into three sections:
The Central Registry existed from 1919 until the early 1970s and maintained files of correspondence and reports sent or received by the various departments of the League of Red Cross Societies.
Non Registry: Some departments of the League of Red Cross Societies maintained their own files in parallel to the Central Registry files, so not all correspondence and reports are found in the Central Registry files; some are found in the Non-Registry files. After the closure of the Central Registry in the 1970s, all departments maintained their own files.
Statutory Bodies: The decisions, minutes, reports, and background papers of the statutory bodies such as: General Assembly and Governing Board and their predecessors; committees and commissions; Regional conferences; Council of Delegates; International conferences of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.
