Organising a Successful Online Event (Yan Luong, 4h)

Technology provides more than just the ‘wow’ factor at events. It streamlines operations, allows you to do more in less time, and helps facilitate connections among attendees. Do you know how to develop an online event (webconference, webinar, online debate, etc.) strategy? During the "Organising a successful online event" workshop, you'll learn how to define your channels according to your audience(s) and how to communicate and organise processes pre and post event. You'll also see what are the available applications which will enable you to engage with your attendees and fellow conference participants.

Yan Luong is a self-confessed geek who helps organisations navigate the high seas of digital and social media. He has held Social Media and Digital Communications Management positions at Montreux Jazz Festival, Radio Télévision Suisse (RTS), the Swiss Institute of Technology (EPFL), Switzerland's Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), helping those institutions grasp and leverage the opportunities related to digital communication, mediation and engagement. Since 2016 he is a digital communications and community engagement consultant. He has been developing digital strategies and change management programmes for the likes of the Culture Department of Canton Wallis, the Information and Communication Office of Canton Vaud, the Swiss Foundation for the Arts (Pro Helvetia) or the Young Activists Summit (RTS / UN / Dev.tv). Yan Luong is also a lecturer on digital communications and social media management at the University of Geneva (UNIGE), Haute Ecole de Gestion de Genève (HEG Geneva) and Institut Suisse de Relations Publiques (SPRI).
