The document delivery (Swisscovery Courier) and interlibrary loan (ILL) service provides users with documents (books, journal articles, PhD theses) that the Library does not hold and which are available elsewhere in Switzerland or abroad.

Please note: Due to legal reasons, it is not possible to request digitisation for an entire item (e.g. book, journal).

Swisscovery Courier

Many SLSP libraries are linked together by the Swisscovery Courier service. You can collect and return media from participating libraries at your library in the network.

Documents located in a Geneva library (UNIGE + City of Geneva) cannot be borrowed via the Swisscovery Courier service.
Users must go to the library holding the document to borrow it directly.

This service is free of charge for members of the Geneva Graduate Institute community. If you are an external user the charged fee is 8 CHF per medium (Fees table).

WARNING

  • A fee of 10 CHF is charged for any non-collected request.

Orders from other libraries in the SLSP network are placed via the Swisscovery catalogue by following this procedure.

Who is participating in Swisscovery Courier?

Most of the libraries of the major Swiss academic institutions offer this service. Swisscovery allows you to know whether an institution is part of the network.

If your document is not in an SLSP library, request it through an interlibrary loan (ILL).

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Documents from libraries outside Swisscovery (or not participating in Swisscovery Courier) can be ordered using the “Interlibrary loan” form available on Swisscovery.

Please also indicate if you want to get your order from abroad and by what date at the latest you need it.
