Zotero

Introduction

Zotero is a free, open-source program that collects and manages the bibliographic references you need for your research. It allows you to:

  • Automatically download references from library catalogues, bibliographic databases or the Web (although some references must still be manually entered);
  • Search for references, sort them, and eliminate duplicates;
  • Create standalone bibliographies or insert references into a text as you write. You can choose from many different styles, change the style as you write, and automatically generate the bibliography at the end of your dissertation.

Using a citation manager like Zotero will allow you to save a lot of time, avoid tedious and uninteresting tasks, improve the quality of your bibliographies, and concentrate on researching and writing.
